Hi, we're Debbie Goward and Kaye Stefanovic.
We share a vision. And if we’re honest, a pretty brilliant idea.
We’ve developed a product for people who can’t eat but still want to experience taste.
Between us, we bring a lifetime of experience working with the disability community. As retired registered nurses, we’ve worked in institutions, group homes, and alongside families and carers in the community. We’ve seen challenges across every aspect of life, but one challenge stands out above the rest: supporting people who are unable to eat.
Food isn’t just fuel. It is a joy and a comfort. It’s hot chips on a rainy day, a sausage roll with tomato sauce, or a slice of pizza that’s definitely too hot, but absolutely worth it. Experiencing flavours is also a deeply important aspect of our social lives.
In Australia alone, around 1 million people live with swallowing difficulties. Thousands of people rely on tube feeding every day, receiving the nutrition they need, but never getting to taste their favourite flavours.
For carers, there’s often a quiet sense of guilt, knowing they’re providing excellent care, but unable to offer something as meaningful as taste.
That’s where Taste Safe comes in.
Taste Safe delivers flavour through an oral dissolvable strip, allowing people to experience their favourite flavours. After years of research and development, our product is finally here!
