Did you know?

Despite the potential life-threatening nature of dysphagia, up to 52% of individuals choose not to adhere to speech pathology recommendations for the management of the disorder ( Krekeler et al 2018).

This includes people who have been determined as nil-by-mouth by their medical team, are placed on long-term enteral feeding, and choose to continue to eat and/or drink ‘at risk’.

Supported by Industry Professionals

taste safe has been described by speech pathologists as a “game changer” for people on tube feeds. The capacity to enjoy taste opens the doorway to the pleasure all people derive from eating. This possibility also may alleviate carer guilt or fear about moving onto tube feeds for the person in their care.

“There is much more to mealtimes than simply the gaining of adequate nutrition.  The sensory enjoyment of the flavours of favourite foods is just one other component in a complex social and emotional experience.”

Validated by carers and patients

Our preliminary market research has received a highly favourable response from both carers and patients.

“I think this product is a great idea, not being able to experience the pleasure of taste has a really significant impact on your quality of life. I would loved to have been able to offer my mother the simple enjoyment and comfort of her favourite flavours when she was in palliative care.”

Our passion is to support people who can’t eat so they can still experience taste.
